This hybrid seminar course focuses on the process of researching and writing a scholarly paper that fulfills the MHSL Advanced Research and Writing requirement. Course modules will address steps in that process, including: selecting and developing a thesis, researching the topic, developing an outline, completing a first draft, and editing your writing. Related topics such as academic ethics and academic publishing will also be addressed. The course will culminate in submission of the final paper. Weekly or bi-weekly assignments will facilitate the work of researching and writing a long paper in a systematic way. Students may select, in consultation with the professor, the topic and specific issue on which they want to write. Grading: Letter graded Credits: 3 Offered:
