The remedy of any lawsuit is unquestionably the most important aspect. Clients litigate because they expect to receive something-money or injunctive relief. This course explores the critical concepts of analyzing available private remedies and securing the best possible relief, particularly in the context of intellectual property claims. We will cover the general overview of legal remedies. We will also explore-at a relatively high level-the four types of IP protection, while more closely analyzing available remedies for various wrongs in intellectual property law. Thus, this course is not only useful for future IP practitioners and business lawyers, it is a great review of earlier substantive courses, such as contracts and torts.
