The Mediation Clinic provides students with an opportunity to use and develop their facilitative mediation skills by serving as mediators in Ramsey County Conciliation and Housing Courts and community mediations through the Dispute Resolution Center (DRC). Students will also have the opportunity to assist the DRC in case development. Students will begin by observing Conciliation and Housing Court and mediation sessions and advance to participating as co-mediators, and ultimately as independent mediators, all under supervision. The clinic will be composed of approximately 40-45 hours of in-court (or community) casework; 30 hours of reflective and out-of-class work; and 18 hours of in-class time. Grading: Letter graded.
