Iran, Law, and Society (8014)


Through a multi-disciplinary approach, students will deepen their understanding of modern Iran. The course will address the structure of Iranian government, particularly the role of a Supreme Leader under the Iranian Constitution; the fundamentals of Islamic law including Shiite variations; the mechanisms for enforcing non-proliferation; and the lingering effects of economic sanctions. The course also covers Persian art, music, poetry, and cinema.
